Let me just start my saying by this; under no circumstances no matter how much I beg, cry, bribe etc..... do let me borrow the follow items; blenders, mixers, irons, spatula's, Tool's (I loose them) I could go on and on.....I go through an iron an a year, a mixer & blender a year and spatulas on a daily basis!
My boys ask me to make them some cookies last night, I really do not enjoy spending time in the kitchen for that amount of time. I know, that is not very motherly, but I am on a mission and I have things to do and they just don't cook fast enough! I started them last night and then put everything away and decided I would do them this morning. So as SW is leaving for work he says to me; you have a nice day honey and remember hon; there called Monster cookies but that doesn't mean they have to look like MONSTERS! Really? I think I have this under control! I decided to make a dbl batch (stupid) I put everything together as directed and my Antique Mixer broke :( now that was a pisser! there was cookie dough all over my counters, walls, cupboards, etc.... Now what is wrong with this picture? I had to mix this whole dbl batch of cookies by hand! My gimpy son could not help me! I baked two trays, ate 1 tray myself and made 1 try for the two boys put the rest in the fridge to bake later! They really must make better grades appliances for people that abuse them like me. I mean honestly, maybe I should be buying industrial strength? On a positive note; the cookies turned out good! I am going to post the recipe.

Monster Cookies
3 Eggs Room Temp
1 Cube of soften butter
1 Cup Brown Sugar
1 Cup White Sugar
2 tsp. vanilla
2 tsp. maple syrup
2 tsp. baking soda
1 1/2 Cups Peanut Butter
4 1/2 Cups Oatmeal
1 Cup of M & M 's
1 Cup of Chocolate Chips
Preheat Oven to 325 degrees and grease or spray as many cookie sheets that you have! Can you tell I am on a mission!
I put 12 on a cookie sheet so they don't take over the house like my husband thinks the monsters are coming to get him! Maybe I should make them bigger!
I bake them for 10 minutes because he likes them soft if you want them crunchy bake them longer 12 - 14 min. but just watch them and test them. They say to bake them on 350, I did that and I thought it was too hot for them.
Enjoy! Now This Batch was not dbl and if you break your vintage mixer than we shall all meet and all
go buy new ones!!!!! Because we deserve it!

I began my first week cleaning like a mad women and then life came to a halt in just seconds.......
Ashton our 14 year old! He just finished the 8th grade and last Wednesday he thought it would be fun to climb on a child's back and lift himself up to the back board of the basketball hoop and the bolts broke and came down on his fingers. Left hand is still there...16 stitches later, surgery the following day, two broken fingers one is pinned all are separated and he will be in a soft cast for a min. of 6 weeks. By the grace of God, he was one lucky child that he did not loose his fingers. So far we think his tendons are okay but we will not know until everything begins to heal.
Our daughter graduated on Saturday, we had a wonderful party that we paired together with her best friend and first love. If I thought closing my shop was bittersweet, separating these two at the end of summer is going to be really sad. I will not only be letting one child fly but two. I wish everyone could experience what these two kids have had. I pray that when they go their separate ways they will one day find there way home into each others hearts. I do know that they will experience life almost 3000 miles away, and they them selves are not sure how they are going to do it. They both need to learn to fly and continue with their education. I am so very proud of my children and what they stand for. I am also so very proud of us "their parents" we have done a great job with our kids. Shelb's best friend Dylan has been like another son to us and I hope and pray we can always be there for him. Shelbie will be attending Willamette and Dylan will be attending Flight School in Daytona Beach and then plans on going into the Air Force. This week has been pretty calm, I get to start cleaning the rest of my house and get my flowers planted. We are finally getting some wonderful warm weather. I have had so many people say to me; what are you going to do? clean my house lol I think I have already gotten bored with that job and I want to play! I want to go for a nice long ride, take some photos, visits friends, now really doesn't that sound like much more fun! "I know" priorities! I am learning one day at a time, the more I stay on task the sooner I will get to go play. I am dieing to go to Monticello in Portland and check out all their cool outdoor decor' and if any of you go "please don't tell me what I am missing right now" I can only imagine! If you have not made it there you are really missing out! Some places you just can't keep a secret, they have awesome customer service and they have anything you are looking for and even what you are not! So remember "one of my motto's" If it speaks to your heart it is okay to buy it! "No Regrets"!

I can not begin to Thank you all enough for the wonderful support over the past 4 years. My business was a great success and being able to meet and share with all of you made this experience "The Best"! It has been almost 4 days since the closing of my shop. On Sunday, when I had gone into work to try and finish packing S.W. my greatest supporter had already taken the signs down from the top part of the building and when I pulled up and saw it "all gone" I sat in the truck listening to a Bob Seager song and cried :( I didn't think it was going to hit me as hard as it did but I was wrong. After about 5 minutes of me sitting in the truck crying, S.W. came out and said "I know, this is really a sad moment for you, it was a sad for me taking them down as well. I finished packing and closed the doors. I have been cleaning my house for the last week and I am horrified of what I have let go......"yikes" I have a lot to do before I take on my next venture! I bought two flats of Sweet Peas today, I brought my plants home from the shop to replant, and my list goes on and on....Thank you all so much for your support and stopping in to say "see you soon" not good bye! This is a good thing and now that I am home I am glad that I am done and will be able to spend more time with my family and teaching my youngest son life skills (too many school cuts) and really, we are great teachers and owe it to our children to teach them these wonderful skills called - learning how to live! Everything does not come a sweet box with a beautiful ribbon on it and our kids need to learn these life skills. I will be taking a break from creating until I get my house in order and then I will be doing projects that I am going to share with all of you so if you are interested in them you can join in and get free lessons! I truly beieving in Paying It Forward because so many women have done the same for me.

This is a busy weekend coming up but if you get the chance please stop in and if you haven't signed our guest book, please do so. We are keeping it as our mailing list for future news to you all! We have about 4 tables full of some great finds. We have set the prices pretty darn low so you can buy more! lol We still have some collectibles, glassware, odds & ends and some that you will have to finish yourself but at these low prices you can't go wrong. I would love to say "see you later" I never like to say "good bye". If you don't get the chance please keep in touch and I will continue blogging and keep you updated on what is going to be happening in the near future. We are all getting a bit more excited about the closing of the Shop because we are looking forward to doing other shows that we have been invited to participate in. Never get to busy making a living - that you forget to make a life..... This is something I embroidered years ago for SW and framed it for him never thinking it would be me saying this to myself. I am going to start living and doing things for me and for my family that will leave them with priceless moments. It is amazing to me that this past weekend the world was suppose to come to an end, and the stupid stuff people do ( I hope I am not offending any one you) but truly I believe when God plans on ending the world he is not going to give us any notice, after all; why would he. We are to have FAITH and it is our daily faith that takes us through the next day and the next. It is what we give to others when they are loosing their faith, God expects us to step up and share our faith. Share you Faith, give someone a hug and say something kind to them and make them feel special, that is what life is all about!

Tomorrow will be the last week my Shop will be Open!

This last week has been so hectic, it seems like I get a great start on things and my wonderful daughter asks me if I have finished her Graduation Announcements? "NOPE"! Not yet, I"ll get to them so if you are expecting one please look in the mail >>>>>Next week!<<<<< I have almost finished packing the Shop and I think I watched "You've Got Mail" 5 times and cried all five times as she closed her doors. I know in my heart this is what my heart and soul are telling me to do at this time in my life, it is just a little harder than I thought to let it go. I have had the greatest people come in and the "out of towner's" have just begun to filter in and they have made me feel worse! I kept the sign off today and people still found their way through the door. This is going to be a tough week for me and so if you get bored, say a little prayer for me because I think I am going to need a new box of Kleenex! For those of you that have contacted me I do have a stash of windows out front at 5.00 a piece!!!!! If you can beat that go get em! I will be there everyday except Tuesday. Ya all know how to contact me so if you want something call me.

What A Ride It Is To Own Your Buisness!!!!!

If your DREAM is to own your own business, I would totally encourage you to do so. It has it highs & lows but I wouldn't have changed it for anything. I have had some awesome offers and for now, I am going to finish the next two weeks and take the Summer off. If I really thought I had the energy I would do Coberg, but I can't honestly say I will be there yet. After cleaning the basement for 3 days at the Shop I think I need to take a Hoarders Class or as SW would tell me I need to go to an AA Meeting? For Hoarding? Okay, so this means I can stand up and admit I do have way too many TREASURES but I will only go if I can take my bottle of wine with me! I think I got so tired of packing that I just began tossing which is what I did not want to do. The Basement is empty now and everything is on the top floor and ready to move. If you are looking for some reallllllly great deals now is the time to come in! I am going to be in Thursday and Sharon will be there on Friday. The following week is the last week the Shop will be open. Even if you can't come in please take note that I live in town and I will still have my Shop at the house and you can call me anytime to see if I have what you are looking for in stock and if I don't I can hopefully direct you in another way to another great Shop! I am so excited about this Summer because there are a lot of really great Shops out there that I will be visiting and you need to go visit. Montecello in Portland "AWESOME" Shop totally filled with fantastic Treasures for all different vendors. This Shop is so well put together that my words just can not describe how giddy one gets when they enter it! There are a few in Coberg that are great, ask I shall share!!!! That is what it is all about. I think that is why I loved having my own Shop was meeting all the other Shop owners and seeing what great talent is out there. I don't think it is just about all the great Antiques anymore I think it is our own way of going green by salvaging what we have and bringing it back to life, and really girls; how much fun is it to bounce our ideas around with each other? Share and Pay It Forward and it will come back 20 fold. This has truly been an Awesome Journey for me and even a greater one meeting all these great people.

I Won!!!!!

I know I shouldn't be such a brat but sometimes I am! I love blogging because I can spill my guts and SW never reads it! lol so I can admit anything (which I have) but never to him! But lately I have admitted that I have way too many treasures and some I just can't part with! I have begged and pleaded with him to let me bring some items home and with a few days of pouting " I won" and today when I sat in my kitchen and contemplated how it was going to look I stopped looking at my other son and he said what are you waiting for " I said 24 hours to figure out if I really want to do this!" He said that was a great idea! Hmmmm do you think he knows something I don't? I am taking my Mama into town tomorrow and will be at work on Tuesday to try and complete some packing and final sales. I am so excited about exploring new adventures and sharing them with all of you.

When God Closes One Door....He Always Open's Another...

14 1/2 years ago I lost my Pa to Cancer. There isn't a day that goes by that I don't think about him. I miss him just like it was yesterday that he passed. In 1998 when we moved to Oregon, we stayed at the Best Western until out house was ready and during that time Steven would get ready for work and stop in at Rascals Mrk. to get a cup of coffee. He had told me about this nice Gal that worked there and with 3 small children, shopping was just not my thing! (even in a grocery store!) Well, I finally met this Gal because I became adicted to Pace Picante Corn Nuts! They use to order me a case of them until I started breaking my back teeth and then I decided to stop eating them. When we moved into our house, Our 6 year old got involed in Cub Scouts and we would go out and do his Cub Scout duties and that is when I met Dee's Husband Herb. I had become close friends with them, just in passing. We moved away for 2 yrs and moved back 2 yrs later. This is also the man I bought my truck from, and from the very first moment I met him, I told him; "you so resemble my Dad" flannel shirts, hankies in the back pocket and the sterness in his voice and then the softest heart you will ever meet! I love these people! To finish my story, my great friend Sharon shared with me that Herb's Birthday was on Staurday the 14th and I was in AWH. That is my Dad's Birthday I said. I told Sharon, I knew there was a reson God brought those wonderful people into my life. When ever I have questions that I wish I could ask my Dad I have always called on Herb and never really knew why. Since my Pa's passing on all Holiday's I send a balloon to Heaven with a written message to him and so today I sent my balloon to Heaven and delivered a bouquet of Balloons to Herb for his Birthday. My wish for all of you is that you will find someone in your life that brings joy to your life....just because!

I Can See The Light!

This has been exciting and and a little tearful at times.. Closing my Shop, I know is the best thing I can do right now. I have about 3 weeks to go and I will hopefully be done by the end of this month. My eldest son has come from Tacoma, to help his one and only "Wonderful" 2nd Mom out! He is a wonderful child and never seems to complain. We have the entire basement to clean out and bring up stairs to get priced and get it out to Sale!!!! The final week of the Shop's closing, all funds that are collected will go toward a Scholarship that The Local Annex has put together. I thought it was an awesome idea for Sandy to do this for our local kids. This gal seriously goes out of her way to help the community out in anyway she can. Everything in the Shop that belongs to Somewhere In Time is 50% off. There are certain items that I have marked down as low as I can go and will follow me home if they do not sell. (which is what I am hoping for) lol! It is really hard to let some things go especially if I am planning on doing things later down the road. I really hope to see all of you before I close and for most of you, you all know where I live and where you can always find me. My doors are always open, even if my Shop is Closed. I really enjoy doing side jobs for people and I so love doing the Tea Parties for these young ladies. They are just so much fun!

Mothers Day Is This Sunday!!!!

Have you ever thought about these Holiday's and thinking back....What is one of my most fondest memories. I have to tell you this short story and then off to work I go....I came home yesterday and I went to check the mail and noticed that there was a paper across the street so I wandered over there, and "It Read" MOM on the front of it. I looked around and opened the pages knowing it was not from my kids, (writing was too young) lol My heart sank as I thought, oh my gosh, a child is so excited to give this gift to his Mama and he didn't even know he dropped it. So, I came inside and ask my sweet girl if she knew a small child named Dustin? I began calling all of our neighbors that I know and someone finally said, he lives down the road a piece from you and so to end my sweet story I will be delivering this little package to this small child and this my friends will make my day to see this child's face light up because in all honesty, those little Homemade Papers & Art these children bring home to us are "Priceless" and looking back, those are my fondest memories of Mothers Day! "Oh" and lets not forget all the hugs and kisses we get and some of us even get some kind of breakfast in bed. lol I do truly love this day and I am so Thankful I still have my Mom to share this day with as well....

Closing the Shop on Hwy 58 SALE TO BEGIN........This week!!!!

Our Tree Planting Festival was a lot of fun, we had demo's though out the day. Our weather was on the chilly side but no rain so no complaints! I will begin by telling all of you how much I have loved having my Shop and that this next month will bring me sadness along with bittersweet joy. I will begin having close-out sales and begin packing up and I am praying to be closed by the end of the month. So many people have ask me; "why" sometimes we get so busy making a living...we forget to make a life.... With that being said; I am closing the Shop not my Life! I will keep my business name and I will keep my License because I will continue to create and have sales. I am simplifying my life for the sake of our youngest son who is 14 and even though he might not say it all the time I know he still needs his Mama and I need him to know that he is more important than me having my business right now. I have the rest of my life ahead of me when he Graduates in 4 yrs and then what my plans are "the rest for now..is unwritten". S.W. is sooo------ excited about having a "really" clean house again and that really excites me, may sound crazy but....you can only let things go for so long and then you look over your shoulder and wonder how did this happen. I really hope and pray for all of you that ever think about having an outside business that you have the support system that I have had. My Soul Mate & Best Friend has supported my dream and some people may say, why wouldn't he but the truth is; there are a lot of women out there that wish for that support system and I can honestly say, he gave that to me with open arms and I love him dearly for his support and allowing me to truly live my DREAM!

This Saturday is our BIG Parade here in Oakridge!!!

The Parade begins at 11:00 AM so as always get your seat early. We have so many things planned for this Saturday after the Parade....April Showers bring May Flowers!!! We must think positive, my Tulips are in full bloom, my Weeping Cherry Tree's are gorgous. "Oh" I how wish these flowers would last. We are planning on having the Parking Lot Sale inside the Shop because we are thinking it will probably be raining. Anything with a RED \ through it will be half off! "Yippie" We will also be throwing out special tickets again and if you bring your ticket in you will be entered into one of the 3 drawings. We are doing this a little different this year. Myself, Mikal & Sharon will be doing Art Demo's and if you are interested in the AWESOME products we have all purchased since October we will be able to give you all the great info on how to get them. The Demo's will begin at 1:00PM so we have time to get back from the Parade but the Shop will open at 10:00! We are only having the Sale on Saturday this year. There will be so many wonderful things on SALE that you surely won't want to miss out on.

The Pursuit Of Happiness........

This is bittersweet news that I will be closing my Shop on the Hwy. After much soul searching I have realized that I have my priorities completely out of wack! I am not sure which way to turn and our daughter will be graduating this year and AW will be home for the next 4 years and I am beginning to feel that my eggs are cracking and my sweet little birds are going to be off and all flying soon. I don't want to miss out on that....My wonderful friends that are involved in the Shop with me have been soooooo supportive in my decision that they have assured me that this is the right thing to do. I have so loved having my Shop open but I need to slow down a bit and clean up the mess I have created! "WOW" If SW heard my confession I would give him a heart attack! I couldn't handle that. The Shop will remain open probably through at least June and maybe into July. I will then take the rest of the Summer off, clean my house, start making my bed again (sorry, but that just killed me to really admit that!) Clean my yard up, spend some quality time with my family etc..... I / We will have a sale probably at Christmas at a local place here in town and maybe one next Summer. I will miss everyone that comes in and chats with me, I will miss seeing people on a daily basis but I know in time I will have my priorities back on track and that is a "good thing".

Princess Hannah turned 5!

This Saturday we will be Crowning our newest Oakridge Princess! Sweet Hannah turned 5 and her Birthday Party will be at the Shop this Saturday at 11:30. I love these "bittersweet" events. I always get giddy making these little girls so darn happy. Their excitement is overwhelming or maybe it is mine? Whatever the case I did not post pic's of our first Birthday Party, Crowning "Miss Shaylynn" because my Blog was under construction so I will post pictures this time of both parties. Saturday's theme is "PINK" ooh and you all know how much I love Pink! We will be serving Tea, Crumpets, a small lunch, doing a small craft and of course, posing for pictures. Part Two of The Pursuit Of Happiness

On the way home we stayed in Tonapah one night and Reno the next. The highlight of our trip home was I got to stop at Hobby Lobby and I got to stay an entire hour! While SW stayed in the car and played on his computer drinking his high caffeinated coffee! What a great store, I wanted to find a place to hide so I could spend the night just going through the entire store. "Wishful thinking"!! I did buy a few more soldering tips and have about 50 pieces made so far. Getting ready for Tree Planting. I am realizing that everything in life is not PERFECT and it was not meant to be. The harder you try to be perfect the harder it is in the end. Be the best you can be and be happy with yourself! Each one of us has a gift to offer one another and that is what I am finding that is more important. I love learning from you as much as you love learning from me. Taking those big steps that sometimes we are so afraid of taking is really worth the LEAP!
Lara's word for 2011 who is on my Blog List (prairie girl) she is wonderful and she is very positive and sometimes that is all we need in life, is somebody giving us a boost! Thank you Lara!
I came home to my beautiful weeping trees blooming, now I am a true believer that Spring is here and the flowers will all be out soon! So very exciting!!! Happy Spring to you all!

The Pursuit Of Happiness

A week ago I left to go on a road trip to AZ with my hubby. We went toYuma and I got to spend time with my favorite Aunt. As we drove 1200 miles my mind wandered trying to figure out what will be next in my life. I think I have realized I have so much on my plate that I don't have a happy medium and so I decided that I am going to start making weekly lists! LOL!!!!!! I do not like lists because they are too controlling and I don't feel like I am in control! I am going to try it for one month beginning tomorrow. "Yes" I know it is April Fools Day but I am going to do it anyway, because I have so many things that I am doing that I have to figure out which one I love doing most and maybe it is all of them? This will be something I am going to do and I am vowing to follow through. I have so many different Crafts, Sewing, Soldering, Painting, you name it I am trying to accomplish it all and I know I can but it is going to take some discipline, wish me luck! If you want to join in let me know, the more the merrier because I know I am not in this boat alone. there are just too many fun things out there that I can't just choose one!

Brave Girls Camp

Girls, I know you have heard from me 1000 times regarding this Brave Girls Camp, but for those of you that have not checked it out, you really don't know what you are missing. I can not tell you all that I have learned and everything these wonderful women continue to teach us. This has gone beyound our wildest imagination. Just when we think we are done with one class, we are offered another and what these women teach us is truly amazing and we don't have to leave our home to go to class unless you wish to do it with a group which is what a few of us are doing, we are having so much fun bouncing ideas off of one another. We try and meet once a week and we bring our goodies and have a great time! If you are interested in joining in, contact me at the shop and I will give you all the good scoop! You will have a great time and it is just a healthy way to get together with friends and even if you do not think you are Artistic, you will amaze yourself.

Our Annual Oakridge Tree Planting Fesitval Coming Soon!!!

This years "Theme" is Natural.... I am reaching out to my readers to help me out with this one. I am trying to figure out some ingenious wonderful spectacular (need I say more) ways to fit my shop and my Truck into this years theme. I am feeling road blocked because I am not real sure how to fit natural into the parade. My feelings on natural would out rage my son who has become a vegitarian and my daughter who just plain hates to eat meat "just because" so my thoughts are building some small green houses from old windows, plant seedlings, maybe a little cat nip? Making a Burlap Skirt? If you have any great ideas I would love to hear your thoughts because I have found that I am more green than I ever imagined myself being. I enjoying looking and something and reusing it instead of dumping it, even when SW says "it's garbage" oh but wait and then being able to prove him wrong, that is just a small joy I have! So please feel free to leave your comments, I would love to hear them.

Brave Girls Camp!!!!

I can not begin to tell you what an awesome week Mikal & I had on our Road Trip to ID. We attended Brave Girls Camp. We left on Saturday and headed towards Portland, we decided to take the long way around. We stayed in Portland the first night so we could detour and go to the Monticello Antique Store, Oh My Gosh! What a treat that was! I have pictures to share with you, please be patient as I am running on last weeks energy "still" playing catch up! I met the owner of the shop and she was such a delightful lady. I promised her I would add her to my Blog list however I have messed around with this Blog so much, that I am not able to share somethings with you right now! I really need a class on Blogging! I will accept any one's help!!!! From there, we headed to Camas and "oh" how I fell in love with some wonderful treasures. I ask Mikal if we should remove the seats in the van before we left and she said "no", well we should have! We were truly having an awesome time treasure hunting. We made our way to ID, met the other gals at the Hilton and we BRAVELY all loaded the bus. This was such an adventure because we truly did not know what was in store for us. We stopped by the lake and threw our Bird Seed in the air to leave all of our worries behind before we arrived at camp. We met everyone, we sang songs and got to know one another. I so wish I could tell you everything but me telling you might ruin the fun of maybe one day you going to this camp! We had the time of our lives, we crafted til the wee hours of the night, we laughed, we ate, we shared stories, our talents, our dreams, I could go on & on and for most of you who know me, I do! If you have not joined the bravegirlsclub.com (melody ross) you are really missing out. They will send you a message daily, I dare you to try it and tell me that it didn't give you a boost! You will not regret it. I promise! I will end my message by saying I am back at the shop so come by and see me. I will be posting some new pictures really soon! I can't wait to share with you all that we have learned to do. We are going to start an Art Class, hopefully in November it will begin. It will be post via's our blogs and on face book. We are just going to have a get together where we can craft together and create what ever our hearts desire!

Isn't this little trike with violas the SWEETEST thing ever? I'm not sure Deana is ready to part with this little beauty, but I know there are a couple trikes in the shop that could be ready for your yard in a flash!

The wishing well is for sale on it's own, but with one of the beautiful hanging baskets in the shop, it looked so adorable!

One of Somewhere In Times favorite customer's picked up this bench. Deana did a great job shining this treasure up!

Here is one of the cutest aprons in the shop... burlap and ruffles, what a combination! Come see the pillows too, they are Parisian Chic!

Sunday Blessing to all you; 6 days to go before the Big Parking Sale! I hope all of you are as busy and as excited as we are about our first event of the year! Remember-to say your prayers and pray for a sunny weekend! We have all been working really hard, I have had some wonderful helpers clean up the shop with me, thank you so very much! I could not have done it without you. We will be having the sale rain or shine, if it rains we will all be inside and the party will still be going on! It is all about learning how to Dance in the Rain! Something Deana is still learning how to do. The shop now takes credit cards, how delightful "yes"! See you this weekend.

Happy Holiday's To One & All Of You!

I hope the Holiday's treated you and your family well, and all of your your wishes and dreams came true! As 2009 comes to an end, let us stop, and and count our blessings!

The month of December was so busy, yet very rewarding! The shop sold Christmas trees for the Boy Scouts and we sold all but two.

The 2nd week of December, Marlana & I decorated a Christmas Tree along with other businesses, in the first annual Community of Trees Celebration. The event was a wonderful way to bring businesses in the community together, and the entry fee for citizens viewing the trees, was to contribute to the Oakridge Food Box. The trees were then given to families in need. We were given the opportunity to leave the tree decorated, or take the decorations off after judging. I choose to leave the decorations on our tree. I used my children's first stockings (no names were on them) and our first Tree Angel. Everyone was in aw that I was not keeping my children's belongings, but they didn't understand my goal. I BELIEVE if you pass something good to those in need, it will hold a special place in a person's heart. I hope the family that received our tree, receives many more blessings in 2010.

The Oakridge Fire Department held the 2nd annual light parade for Toys for Tots. My truck from Somewhere In Time, was invited to participate, and that was very exciting! We had beautiful weather, it began to rain just as the parade was coming to an end. My husband Steven is in charge of our local Toys for Tots program. He loves coordinating this event for the children of our community. He says if he can make just one child happy, then his heart is fulfilled! That is so special to me! I can tell you, he and the OFD staff, volunteers, and the wonderful donations from our community, made MANY children happy this year! Our friend, Crissy McFarland from Lane Rural coordinated the parade, and it was a real success! Thank you Crissy!

In 2010, I wish you countless blessings. I will be filling the the shop with beautiful new items! I will also start offering a variety of classes; beginning sewing - ironing - scrap booking-and so much more! Come back for more details and dates!

"What an EXCITING day"! The Shop is really coming together! I am excepting help, any and all! I just wish I would have excepted it months ago! Today was a wonderful day here in Oakridge, the sun was shining, my friend, Marlana & I hung Christmas lights on the top of the awning, my wonderful friend, Karen Moore who finds such wonderful treasures for me, found the Shop a Sleigh! This is a wonderful addition for the Shop, which will stay out all year long and be so useful. Our first Open House is this weekend, Santa will be here, Our local Boy Scouts are selling Christmas Trees at the Shop. We will have Baked Goods, so many wonderful treasures to mention, you really must come in. We will be open until 9:00 pm on Friday evening the 4Th and Saturday 9:00-5:00 & Sunday 10:00-4:00. Please come by and see us, share the Christmas Cheer! Have a Safe and Wonderful weekend!
